Academic Advisement in the WiscAd Program

Academic advisors help guide;  the student decides.

Academic advising in the WiscAd Program is a process that includes developing student relationships with the purpose of guiding the student towards the achievement of his/her educational, career, and personal goals.

The WiscAd student's academic advisor is their WiscAd Program instructor. Students have the opportunity to work closely with their academic advisors as they move through the WiscAd Program.  Advisors help students make the most of their WiscAd Program experience by helping students develop a better understanding of educational and career goals as related to their interests, skills, and abilities. Advisors encourage students to be self-reflective, to think critically about their skills and dispositions, to seek out resources, and to become strong advocates for themselves.
