Admissions Agreement

This Admissions Agreement is entered into by and between Educate-WI (hereinafter Educate-WI) and (hereinafter STUDENT). The parties enter into this Agreement relating to STUDENT'S desire to obtain an educator license in Wisconsin through one of Wisconsin's  educational certification programs made available through Educate-WI. By signing this agreement, Educate-WI acknowledges that STUDENT has met admission requirements, subject to any and all conditions indicated below, with the understanding that any special conditions of admission must be successfully completed by STUDENT within timelines identified and to standards specified.

STUDENT is admitted subject to meeting admission requirements as defined in the STUDENT account on the webpage.

The following Educate-WI programs provide training and supervision required for initial and additional educator licensure through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI): 10 Sped, Project Teaching, and WiscAd. Such certification is required to hold educator positions in Wisconsin schools. STUDENT acknowledges that components of the program are subject to change, by Educate-WI, from time to time, in Educate-WI's sole discretion.

Graduate credit is provided to STUDENT through a collaborative arrangement with Saint Mary's University of Minnesota (SMUMN). This option allows qualified individuals the opportunity to obtain credits by successfully completing course requirements defined by the syllabus. STUDENT must enroll in SMUMN to receive credits. SMUMN governs all aspects related to university admission and retains the exclusive right to admit students, grant credits, award degrees, and manage the programs and affairs of all students as they pertain to the university. All components related to graduate credit are subject to change in SMUMN's sole discretion.

STUDENT desires to enroll in an Educate-WI program in an effort to obtain a license to be an educator in Wisconsin schools. The program shall consist of a course of study as described on our website. STUDENT must pass required tests, must demonstrate the disposition for teaching or administration,  and satisfactorily complete student teaching or practicum experiences as required by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and must demonstrate proficiency in all teacher or administrator standards as described in the program materials.

Each program follows criteria established in Wisconsin PI 34 and described on our website and program materials.

STUDENT hereby certifies that they are eligible for enrollment in the Educate-WI certification program.

Upon satisfactory completion of all requirements of the program identified above, STUDENT is eligible to apply for a license to administer schools or teach in the State of Wisconsin, provided all other licensure requirements identified by statute have been met (including, but not limited to appropriate degree or equivalency of a specialist degree in an educational field as defined by DPI, years of teaching experience, license specific tests, etc.)  Satisfactory completion of the program is not a guarantee that a license will be so granted. Educate-WI makes no representations or warranties of licensure.

Admission. At the time of admission, STUDENT shall be assigned an admission status. Upon receipt of the non-refundable enrollment fee, STUDENT shall be enrolled in the appropriate program. STUDENT agrees that they will pay all semester course fees in such amounts and within such periods of time as determined by Educate-WI. STUDENT shall not be eligible for a refund if the request for such refund is made after the semester tuition  due date regardless of STUDENT'S participation in online discussions or attendance at such class.  Fees are subject to change without notice.

Certifications. If STUDENT decides to add or change a certification, written notification to Educate-WI must be made. Additional fees may be required.

Background Checks. STUDENT acknowledges that the State of Wisconsin requires a background check for purposes of determining the eligibility of an individual to receive a license to teach in a school within the State of Wisconsin. By executing this Agreement, STUDENT hereby authorizes Educate-WI to conduct all necessary and required background checks required by the State of Wisconsin.

Nondiscrimination.Educate-WI is committed to equal opportunity regardless of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, or other protected status.

Authorization to Release Information. STUDENT authorizes Educate-WI to duplicate and release STUDENT records on file to any school in which STUDENT is being considered for practicum experience or any other official agency which requires such information for licensing or program-related purposes.

Successful Program Completion. Successful program completion is achieved when STUDENT completes all program requirements to passing standards established for each component and pays all program fees and any associated fees. At their sole discretion, staff or assignees employed or designated by Educate-WI determine successful completion of the program and each of its components. Successful program completion results in a recommendation for licensure by the Certifying Officer designated by Educate-WI and recognized by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. All grades and degrees awarded for successful completion of coursework are subject to the rules and regulations of Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. Educational licensure is further subject to all applicable rules and regulations of statutes and the Wisconsin Department of Instruction, which is the only authorized agency that can certify educators in Wisconsin.

Unsuccessful Program Completion. Failure to achieve successful program completion for any reason results in no recommendation for licensure by Educate-WI or its Certifying Officer. It may further result in failing grades for which no credits may be awarded; grades of “Incomplete” must be successfully completed within 10 days of the last day of the semester and are only allowed if the STUDENT meets the criteria for Incompletes as described in the course syllabus. Educate-WI makes no guarantee of successful program completion and assumes no liability for STUDENTS who fail to successfully complete its programs, nor will it issue refunds.

Employment. STUDENT acknowledges that satisfactory completion of any program leading to receiving an educator license in the State of Wisconsin is not a guarantee of employment as an educator either within or without the State of Wisconsin.

Fees. The program enrollment fee is non-refundable. All semester tuition fees must be paid by due dates as defined by the program payment schedule provided at the time of application and posted on the website.  Fees may be paid by credit card or check. Payment of tuition is due to Educate-WI (rather than SMUMN) on or before the due date. If payment is not received by Educate-WI by the due date,  a late fee will be assessed. If payment is not received within 10 days after the due date, STUDENT will be withdrawn from the program. NSF or returned checks will be assessed a $150.00 fee.  A 10% administrative fee will be assessed on prepaid tuition for drops requested after the start of the semester and before the tuition due date. The tuition fee is non-refundable after the first day the semester begins. No refund will be issued if the course is dropped after the first day of the semester.  Fees are subject to change without notice.

*(Excludes any fees charged by school districts for student teaching or administrative practicum, fees charged by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction for licensure application, fees for tests stipulated by the State of Wisconsin or collaborating colleges and universities if required for enrollment or licensure, college application fees, or fees for additional coursework taken through Saint Mary's University of Minnesota or any other college or university.)
